Our Safety Approach
At Kapes Adventures, safety is at the heart of everything we do. We follow international best practices in educational travel to ensure all participants enjoy a secure, meaningful experience.
Pre-Departure Preparation
- •Comprehensive pre-departure orientation sessions

- •Guidance on required documents and preparations
On-Program Support

- •24/7 emergency support system
- •Vetted accommodations and transportation providers
- •Ongoing risk assessment and management
Risk Assessment
Every one of our experiences is thoroughly risk-assessed prior to commencement, and all existing experiences have their risk assessments updated on an annual basis, or after an event (such as a season or weather change, or a natural incident that requires a reassessment). Our risk assessments are detailed, and form the basis of our standard and emergency operating procedures.
Risk assessments can be shared upon request.
Our Guides
All of our guides are qualified to a high standard, as well as to a legal standard, in the jurisdiction they operate in. For example, our East African safari guides are trained in wilderness first aid and have extensive knowledge of local wildlife, geography, and safety protocols. Similarly, any of our guides working in water environments have appropriate water-based qualifications and certification. All of our guides have been vetted to be suitable to work with minors and undergo regular training to maintain their expertise in the areas they guide.

In Kenya we are partnered on the ground by Savage Wilderness, who were established in 1990, and it has grown into Kenya's top outdoor adventure provider, facilitating adventure trips to all ends of Kenya.

We support participants with various health needs. Please inform us during registration about:
